When Atlantic Pittsburgh’s Customer Service Manager, Jineen Rush, learned that Children’s Flight of Hope was flying a family into her facility her first thought was, “What can we do?” Children’s Flight of Hope flew a young girl, Melody, into Pittsburgh (PIT) from her home in North Carolina to receive lifesaving medical care at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. Jineen and her team made it their mission to make her trip a memorable and fun experience. They learned Melody’s likes and dislikes, and together they created a specialty handmade basket of goodies, just for her.

For the past 18 months, Children’s Flight of Hope (CFOH) has been flying children into the Pittsburgh area. CFOH is a non-profit organization that raises funds to provide air transportation for children to access lifesaving specialized medical care around the country. They provide both commercial and, for those children that are too weak to be exposed to a public environment, private flights. 

“We have been so impressed with each and every experience at Atlantic Aviation Pittsburgh. From the facility, even during renovation, to the customer service team led by the incomparable Jineen Rush, to the line crew and everyone in between, each visit has been amazing. The team always greets our families with a smile and a personal gift for our little patient,” says Haley Terry, CEO of Children’s Flight of Hope.

Terry credits Jineen Rush as the heart and soul of Atlantic Aviation, and we believe that she is a true embodiment of the Atlantic Attitude. Revered by her staff and coworkers, she truly sets the tone at Atlantic Pittsburgh. Jineen takes the extra step for all her customers, but especially the patients of Children’s Flight of Hope. Whenever she knows a CFOH flight is coming in she takes the time to get to know the family, and then she creates a goodie basket for them, never forgetting their furry family members that may be flying with them.

“It is moving, and our families and staff are grateful beyond words,” says Terry. “Not to mention all the times Atlantic has discounted fuel, coordinated services and hotel rooms, reduced deicing costs, and even [worked with a tenant mechanic to donate] parts and labor during a mechanical failure. This is incredibly meaningful as every discount provided by Atlantic allows us to reallocate funds to help more children in need.”
