Atlantic locations across the country have hosted blood drives recently to help with the national blood shortage we are experiencing. Currently, hospitals are responding to an increased number of trauma cases and ER visits compared to earlier years, and this is resulting in more blood products being needed and used to save lives. Atlantic in Portland, OR (PDX), New Orleans, LA (MSY), and Las Vegas, NV (LAS), have all hosted blood drives to do their part in helping with this nationwide shortage. 

At Atlantic LAS, they partnered with Vitalant to bring a blood donation bus on site for the day. Many employees donated their blood, and even some LAS based customers were able to donate, too. MSY is teaming up with The Blood Center locally to host recurring blood drives. Their first blood drive was a success, and they can’t wait to continue to host more in the future. Each person that donated at MSY received a t-shirt from The Blood Center and a lapel pin from Atlantic! Our PDX team also helped to host a blood drive through the Red Cross with their airport partner, Delta Airlines. The turnout for this drive was really strong and several Atlantic PDX employees also were able to donate. PDX is looking forward to hosting more drives in the future with their airport partner.

Atlantic is proud to have employees that truly care about their communities. The blood shortage that our healthcare facilities is currently facing is leaving tragic consequences.
