Opening the eyes of nearly 60 middle school and high school kids to the opportunities in their community, Atlantic OPF hosted a National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE) event, ACE Camp. NBCFAE promotes equal employment opportunities for African American, female, and minority employees within the Federal government. NBCFAE intentionally assist the youth in setting goals, building relationships, and gaining exposure to various job opportunities. They offer students insight and hands-on experience, opening a new world full of immense possibilities. We were lucky enough to host these amazing students and organization at our Opa Locka, FL location, Atlantic OPF.

The objective of the ACE Camp was to introduce students to aviation and government career fields and to individuals who are subject matter experts. NBCFAE believes setting goals helps develop new behaviors, guides focus and supports future leaders to sustain that momentum needed in life. The Atlantic OPF team, along with other local groups, including the Coast Guard and Fire and Rescue, played a huge part in doing exactly that.

The Atlantic OPF team provided the students with an excellent introduction and detailed background of their career paths. They shared their unique perspectives on the endless educational aviation opportunities available to them. Dianne Sanders, NBCFAE National Conference Coordinator shared, "The student's eyes widened when learning more about aviation opportunities and training. The thorough and joyful presentations gave the students a great idea of what it would be like to soar high with the eagles.” She continued, “The students continuously talked about their amazement at Atlantic Aviation, the pilots, aircraft tours, and the new options they now have locally.”

The Atlantic team was honored and excited to be able to host the kids and share their experiences with them. In a constant effort to give back to their community, they look forward to working with them again. Dianne Sanders shared, “Your team was instrumental in helping us make all the arrangements, and we are forever grateful for this partnership. I look forward to continuing our collaboration and bringing new options to the minds of our future leaders.”
