Overnight Closures for Rubber Removal and Runway Marking Project
Maintenance and closures can be expected at Kahului Airport (OGG) beginning Feb. 20 and lasting until Latter half of January 2026, due to the scheduled Rubber Removal and Runway Marking Project. Please monitor NOTAMs for the latest information.
• Project Commencement: Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Initial setup and preparatory work will be conducted on the airfield.
• First Runway 2-20 Closure: Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 0000L
• Closure Schedule: 0000L – 0600L determined nightly, seven days per week
Note: Closures commence at midnight of the preceding night.
• Affected Area: Runway 2-20/ 5-23 will be closed to all aircraft operations during closure hours as reported nightly. Select taxiways may also be impacted.
• Estimated Duration: Approximately 30 days of active closures.
• Due to the volume of work required, the duration may be extended.
• In accordance with the FAA holiday moratorium on runway closures, work will be suspended during the holiday period and resume in early January 2026.
